Solutions
real parts. real possibilities.

With Fortus 3D Production Systems, you'll have the best additive manufacturing machines at your fingertips. Powered by Stratasys FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) Technology, these highly versatile manufacturing systems streamline product design through fabrication. From your office to the factory floor, Fortus offers efficient solutions for your business.

Functional Prototypes
Fortus prototypes

Prototypes produced from any of the various production-grade thermoplastics on a Fortus 3D Prototyping System are virtually identical to the final product. They have the same geometry, accuracy and production-grade thermoplastics. Using a Fortus system to build functional prototypes allows you to find problems and prove out design early before the costs of change, development and production rise. This approach of testing form, fit and especially function puts you much closer to a higher-quality end product.

Why manufacture prototypes with Fortus 3D Production Systems?

Reduce Time

  • Accelerates product development by bringing ideas to life faster and less expensively
  • Enables you to correct errors early in the design process and before the tooling stage
  • Reduces time-to-market

Reduce Cost

  • Better-predict end product performance and gain certification confidence with high-tolerance parts
  • Find problems early in design cycle before the cost to correct them rises
  • Eliminate one or more rounds of tooling by proving out the product's design before it reaches tooling

Other Benefits

  • Multiple iterations of design produce better end product
  • Gain early approvals for required testing such as UL and CE certification
  • Easy-to-use system with no messy liquid vats or powder containers to maintain
  • The Fortus Technology process is simple, safe and produces thermoplastic parts in hours, not weeks

The FDM Process

1) Pre-Process.

Stratasys software prepares your 3D CAD data for the FDM build process.

2) Manufacture Part.

Thermoplastic build and support material is
precisely deposited layer-by-layer, forming
your part.

3) Remove Supports.

Support material is easily removed in a hands-free, water-based tank, or break it away by hand.
